There is still one tour with available spots for this amazing opportunity! Register soon before those spots sell out. The link to the event can be found below this brief description:

A wine and geology field trip down the Rhône valley, from Côte Rôtie to the sea. Geologist David Howell, wine expert Douglas Posson and wine enthusiast Koffi Kpachavi will delve deeply into the wine and geology of this historic region of France where vineyards have prospered since the Roman Empire. The varietals are mostly Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre (GSM) but include more than a dozen others. We will grapple with how these express the enormous variations among all the vineyard settings: from 500-million-year schist on the precipitous slopes in the northern Rhône Guigal vineyards of Ampuis to the sub-horizontal boulder fields formed during the last glacial period at Mont-Redon in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and finally the gigantic cliffs and limestone amphitheaters of Cassis and Bandol.

Visit the land, the bedrock and the soils; and ponder the deep history of both the wine and the Earth. We will meet some of the people who are part of the modern wine scene, taste the wines and experience the cuisine. All while walking in the footprints of famous authors, painters, and winemakers.
